Freddy B. Witt, age 73, of Dayton, OH passed away July 13, 2020. Freddy was born in Hazard, KY on October 9, 1946. He was the son of Floyd and Jewell (Wooten) Witt.
He was a 1965 graduate of Stivers High School. Upon graduating, he began his working career as an orderly for Miami Valley Hospital. Freddy was a true "people-person" that never met a stranger and would do anything he could to help others. This was the foundation for having various positions helping others while working at Macaroni Grill and the Double Tree Hotel just to mention a few.
Freddy had an infectious personality and sense of humor. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan. He could recite all of his team's stats and collected every piece of Wildcat memorabilia that he could. In his spare time, Freddy enjoyed putting together model cars, working puzzles, could precisely complete intricate art kits and enjoyed collecting western art and figurines. Freddy was very involved in assisting with the workshops involving the Western Ohio Epilepsy Foundation of which he was a member.
Freddy leaves behind a loving legacy. His 99 year old mother, Jewell Witt, who he loved very much. He also enjoyed attending church with her. He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis D. (husband Mack) Huff of Monticello, KY and Karen (husband Mike) Stuchell of Dayton, OH and brother, Larry W. (wife Faye) Witt of Nashville, GA. Freddy will be sadly missed by his loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the incredible staff of the Sycamore Medical Center Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate and loving care for Freddy.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome contributions being made in Freddy's honor to the Western Ohio Epilepsy Foundation.
A private family graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery with Pastor Doug Surber officiating.
