Fred William "Mac" MacKendrick, age 88 of Dayton, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He was born on July 22, 1932 in Bradford, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Shirley MacKendrick.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Marlene MacKendrick; second wife, Sherry MacKendrick; daughter, Marsha Grossman; and granddaughter, Kristina Ross, and his beloved Pomeranian, Tiny.
Fred is survived by his children, Michael (Mary) MacKendrick, Mark MacKendrick, Michelle (David) Mayhew, Melissa Bennett and Mathew (Jennifer) MacKendrick; grandchildren, Todd, Tara, Kelsey, Jason, Shane, Sean, Phillip, Chasity, Stanley, Jacob, Brandon, Caleb, Matthew, Michael, Jonathan, Patrick, and Jasmine, also many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Colburn, brother Paul MacKendrick. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was titled Mr. Dayton in the 1957 bodybuilding contest. Fred enjoyed buying cars and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved his family with all of his heart and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
