Fred E. Johnson, age 78, of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 26, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Ralph and Caroline Johnson.
Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Beavercreek VFW post 8312. He worked in maintenance at General Motors which then became Delphi.
Fred will be remembered for his jokes and orneriness. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf whenever he could. He was a true handyman and a jack of all trades; nothing was too hard for him to fix. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Johnson and sister, June Snyder.
Fred is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sheila; children, Raquel (Justin) Wager & John Johnson; grandchildren, Paige Parrish, Bethany Wager, Ryan Wager, Dustin Johnson & Hailey Johnson; special niece, Sarah Carter and many other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Fred's honor.
Per Fred's wishes, there will be no service. He will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm with full military honors..
