Franklin M. "Ben" Wood
Age 77, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009, under the care of VITAS Hospice.
He was born June 8, 1932 in Lansing, West Virginia as one of 13 children to Ernest & Genevieve Wood.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of the past 53 years, Janet K. (West) Wood; one daughter, Rebecca & her husband, Dennis Taulbee; one son, David & his wife, Gina Wood; five grandchildren, Kristen (Nick) Carico, Jeremy (Betsy) Taulbee, Josh Taulbee, Tyler Wood & Turner Wood; and by his brothers, sisters, extended family & many good friends.
Ben was proud to be a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served in the 29th Radio Squadron Mobile (RSM) and he retired from L. B. Price Mercantile Company.
The family will be receiving friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Wednesday (10/21) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Stan Ward officiating. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
