Franklin R. "Frank" Lackey, age 84 of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at V.A. Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio to Baxter and Laura (Looper) Lackey. Frank married Mildred Avey on November 29, 1958 in Dayton, OH.
Frank retired from General Motors in 1992 after 20 years, and previously worked for NCR for 25 years. He enjoyed playing golf every chance he had and loved to fish. Frank enjoyed reading and watching the "Old Time" TV shows. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #73 in Beavercreek and belonged to the Milton Athletic Club. Frank graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1952. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Frank is survived by his son, Andy Lackey; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Tyler Lackey; a sister in law, Mary Downing; brother in law's, Tom (Karen) Avey and Daniel Avey; a niece, Kim Davis; a nephew, Mike Lackey; and several other nieces and nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55 years, Mildred; a daughter, Connie Lackey; seven brothers, Ted, Richard, Clyde, Everett, John, James and Larry; and two sisters Virginia and Sarah.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Ohio's Hospice/Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton OH 45420.
