Franklin D. Rollins

Franklin D. Rollins, age 72, of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 13, 2009. He was born November 13, 1936 in Spindale, NC, to the late Harry and Cora Rollins. Franklin was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a loyal sports fan, and loved the Cincinnati Reds. Franklin was an avid gardener. He was a newly loving grandfather. Franklin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Merle Dean Rollins; daughter, Pam (Mike) McCarty; granddaughter, Sidney McCarty; brother, Charlie (Jewel) Rollins; sister, Fran Ensley; and many other relatives. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 5-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). Services will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beavertown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH, 45420) or SICSA (2600 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, OH 45419).
