Frank R. Crouse

CROUSE, Frank R., age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents; Oliver W. & Floy Ray (Collins) Crouse; brothers: Alva, William, Fred, Charlie and Wallace; sisters: Myrtle, Ethel, Ruth and Stella.
Frank was born on December 15, 1927 in Coalwood, WV. He attended Yukon Grade School, War Junior High, and graduated from Big Creek High School in 1948. Frank worked in the coal mines until he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was wounded in action, receiving two purple hearts and the Bronze Star. Upon his return to the States, he attended the Coyne Electronic School in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Coyne, Frank worked in Florida as a television technician. Eventually he moved back to West Virginia to begin a family. He worked for Jones & Spry in War, WV and also worked for Kroger as a butcher.
In 1959 he moved to Dayton, OH and worked for the U.S. Government until he retired after 37 years of service. Everything he did, was with his family in mind. From coaching baseball to boy scouting. His face was seen at every practice and ball game that his kids or grandkids were involved with. He loved his family unconditionally, and would do without, so that those he loved would have what they wanted (as well as what was needed).
Frank is survived by wife, Hazel; along with his two children: Daniel R. Crouse and Marchella (& George) Krause. He is a proud grandfather and great-grandfather of Frank R. (& Lynn) Crouse II, Daniel R. Crouse II, Maria Krause, Tieler Crouse, Riley Kemper and Brady Crouse. Frank is also survived by his sister, Hazel Wright of Bluefield, WV, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on 5-8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2013 also at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Wagner officiating.
