POWERS, Frank (Scooter) went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Trinity Nursing Home. He was born September 2, 1957 in Dayton, OH to the late Osceola and Gertrude (Leslie) Powers. Frank worked for a short time at Dayton Public Schools as a paraprofessional at Transportation. He went on to have a fulfilling career in home remodeling eventually having his own company. He was ordained as a deacon and was an active member of Redemption Gospel Ministries.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; aunt, Lockytea Crutcher; siblings, Willie Jr., Sharlene, Delores, Cordelia, and his brother-in-law, Joseph. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Sandra; five children, Rebecca, Edward, Frank, Matthew, and Francis, and one beautiful granddaughter, Lili'Anna. He also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Gracie Mae (Bobby), Wayman, Riley (Phyllis), Annette, and Michael, also, a very special nephew, Rickley Moore. There is a whole host of extended family and friends that will always have cherished memories of their beloved Scooter.
Home Going services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Redemption Gospel Ministries, 4917 Webster St., Dayton, OH 45414 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with Reverend Michael Miles II officiating. The viewing for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel.
