Frank Mark Maier, "Mark," age 68 of Huber Heights, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, with his wife and sons by his side. He was born June 1, 1949 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the son of the late Frank Jr. and Georgia Maier.
Mark is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Karen; sons, Jeffrey (Molly) Maier, Kevin (Meghan) Maier, Christopher (Jessica) Maier; grandchildren, Madeline, Isabelle, Skylar and Oliver Maier; sisters, Elizabeth Dickson, Mary (James) Post; brothers, Thomas and John Maier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Mark graduated from The Ohio State University with his undergraduate and MBA, and was a retired attorney-at-law who practiced for 31 years. He was an avid trumpet player, having marched in The Ohio State University Marching (and the Alumni) Band and several Drum & Bugle Corps. He was also active in a brass ensemble in Columbus, OH. He loved golf, OSU football and basketball, the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Reds. He also shared a love of Ford Mustangs along with his three sons. He and his wife, Karen, shared a love for traveling and adventure.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 12 pm at Marion Cemetery - behind the Harding Memorial (620 Delaware Avenue, Marion, OH 43302).
