Frank Joseph Debevec, Jr, 80, of Huber Heights passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born November 8, 1935 to Frank & Mary Debevec in Barberton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bernard. Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Veronica (Obreza); children: Lisa (Kevin) Heermans, Frank III (Kris), Mark, Jennifer (Doug) Pelfrey; grandchildren: Paige (Alex) Vandersluijs, Brooke (Adrian) Singh, Aaron Heermans, Taylor (Ryan) Kegerreis, Mark Debevec, Frank IV & Olivia Debevec, Tyler, Logan, Gracie and Ryan Pelfrey; 5 great grandchildren; brother: James (Sue) Debevec; brother by friendship, Gust Papalios and many relatives and friends.
Frank was a graduate of Barberton High School and Ashland University. He was inducted into the Ashland County Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 as a member of the 1954 undefeated Ashland University Hungry Hounds football team. He spent many years in retail management and then went on as a Manufacturer's representative until present.
Frank was very involved in the community-coaching many years of youth/jr high football and baseball; Past Wayne Boosters Club President, Past President of the Yugoslav Club and Chair of the Special Resource Committee at St. Peter Catholic Church.
St. Peter Oktoberfest brought out his love of cooking, his heritage, Polka music and bringing fellowship and joy to the community.
He was an avid cook, accomplished accordion musician and entertained all with his songs, stories and zest for life. He loved his faith, family, heritage and circle of friends. His joy lit up the room and he will be missed by a legion of people he met during his lifetime.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5p-8p at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, 10:00am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Rd., Huber Heights, Fr. Anthony Cutcher, Celebrant.
