Frank S. Goodwin

Frank S. Goodwin, age 67 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He was born April 1, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Ralph and Bettie Goodwin Sr..

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bettie Goodwin; in-laws, Bill and Bengaline Bachelor; brother-in-law, Rick Bachelor; and lifelong friend, Roy Bush.

Frank leaves behind his father, Ralph Goodwin, Sr.; loving wife, Toni; son, Joshua Hyder; granddaughter, Madison Hyder; beloved cats, Oreo & Coco; brother, Ralph (Alice) Goodwin Jr.; sisters, Janet (David) Stoughton, Ruthie (Eric) Bowser; brother-in-law, Steve (Theresa) Bachelor; sister-in-law, Jeanette Bachelor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Frank was a 1969 graduate of Fairborn High School. He retired from the Painter's Union and was most recently employed with Oberer's Florist. When he wasn't delivering flowers he was tending to his own flower garden. He loved cruising in his pontoon boat on Grand Lake St. Mary's and playing his guitars. He was a previous member of the band called T.O.A.D. from Fairborn, OH. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan and also loved The Ohio State Buckeyes - "O-H....I-O!". Frank was such a kind-hearted, loving husband, father and friend, who will be greatly missed. Toni and Frank have been together 26 years, married 9 years. He was such a jokester, and always said, "Toni finally got me drunk enough to marry her."

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:30 am, also at the funeral home, with James Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Brookville, OH.
