Colonna, Frank G. (Poppy) passed away on Sunday, May 24th at the age of 81.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Ellen Armelino and Frank E. and Assunta Colonna, brother Anthony Colonna and granddaughters Gabriella Rose Colonna and Caroline Ann Carter.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Dorothy; sons Tony, Stephen and Frank (Leanne) Colonna and daughter Karen (Ed) Carter; and the loves of his life, his 8 grandchildren: Michael, Stephen, Kelly, Shannon, Lyndsey, Carley, Mia and Francesca.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Frank served in the U.S. Airforce for four years during the Korean War. As a trained engineer, he went on to build a 40 year career in the aerospace industry, moving his family to Dayton, OH in 1978 and retiring in from Bell Aeropspace Textron in 1992. In his retired years he took great pride in serving as the Board President of the Patriot Square Condominium Association.
The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 30th at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6696 Springboro Road and a Memorial Mass will follow immediately after at 11:00a.m.
