Frank F. Mattern, Jr.
Age 80, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007, at Hospice of Dayton. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie (Smith) Mattern; one daughter, Carol Hill; and by two sisters, Blanche Chase and Margie Mattern. He is survived by two daughters, Carrie & her husband, Steve McCarrol and Mary Jane & her husband, Roger Fuller; one son, Carl & his wife, Lisa Mattern; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Anna & her husband, Bernie Carper. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and AmVets. He worked at Dayton Tire and Rubber for 29 years as a tire maker. Frank was an avid fisherman and a great father. A celebration of Frank's life will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, at the American Legion Post, 120 Colton Avenue, Bellefontaine, Ohio.
