Francis Tighe

Francis "Frank" Tighe, age 89, of Kettering, OH passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010. Born October 17, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, Frank was preceded in death by his youngest son, Kevin Tighe; brother, John Tighe; and parents Thomas and Marie Tighe.

Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally Tighe; children, Karen Brown, of Kettering, OH, Chris Black, of Dayton, OH, Tom (Linda) Tighe, of Beavercreek, OH, Judy (Mike) Bilbee, of Marysville, OH, and Tricia (Jeff) Ford, of Spring Grove, PA. Grandchildren; Bonnie Andres, David Goodfellow, Jaimi Schaefer, Adam (Noemely) Ford, Austin Ford, Travis and Joshua Bilbee, Shannon, Brian, Nathan and Sean Tighe; great-grandchildren; Deanna, Raven and Jonathan Andres; sisters, Marie Guzmich, Peggy Tighe and Anne Strank; brother, William (Lise) Tighe; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Frank served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a Major in the Civil Air Patrol for 27 years. He retired from Sheller Globe in 1990. After his retirement, Frank volunteered at Christie Lane School in Norwalk, OH and The Good Neighbor House in Dayton, OH. He was an avid Ham Radio operator in both the Norwalk and Dayton area; KB8SBK.

Frank and Sally were residents of Norwalk, OH for 45 years before moving to Kettering OH, where they were members of the Centerville Seventh-Day Adventist Church (456 W. Spring Valley Pike, Dayton, OH 45458), where visitation will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 11am-2pm. Services will immediately follow at 2:00pm, with Pastor Winston Baldwin officiating. Contributions may be made in Frank's memory to The Good Neighbor House. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel.
