Francis M. Lay, age 84 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 9, 1936 in Caryville, Tennessee, the son of the late Calvin and Etta Lay.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his 8 siblings.
Francis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; children, Michael Lay, Gwendolyn Lay, Carla and Danny Fugate, Brian Lay; grandchildren, Amanda (Chuck) Hurd, Leah (Charlie) DePoyster, Stacy Lay, Christopher Lay; great grandchildren, Haley Fugate, Dillon Fugate, Valerie DePoyster, Anneliese DePoyster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Francis retired from Chrysler after 30 years of employment. He was a Baptist minister for 40+ years. He loved the Lord, his family and food.
Private services. Burial will take place in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton.
