Frances Lee Byrd

Byrd, Frances Lee, age 90 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 peacefully at home. She was born April 5, 1934 in Richlands, VA and was the daughter of the late Mathias and Amey Evans.

Frances was a good, loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and especially all the grandkids. She loved the Lord and going to church and singing about the Lord and her favorite song to sing was “The Great Speckled Bird!”

Frances was survived by her 3 children, Gaylena Powell of Dayton, Ohio, Jerry (Linda) Byrd of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Ruby Powell of Hurst, Texas; 10 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Em) Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Newton Byrd; siblings, Nannie Lou, Lola Mae, Cora, Shirley, Helen, Ruth, Betty, Elmer, Carl; daughter, Connie; and granddaughter, Krystal.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10:00 am with Pastor Heath Houston officiating at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, Ohio.
