Frances Elizabeth (Dayspring) Hapner, age 80, of Dayton, passed away January 23, 2024. She was born August 28, 1943 in Niagara Falls, New York to the late James and Frances Dayspring. In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hapner; sons: Brent Hapner and Garth Hapner; and sister, Deborah Dayspring.
Fran is survived by her sons: Breck Hapner and Kristofer Hapner. Lovingly known as Gambo, she is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Jacqueline Hapner, Natalie Hapner, Alexis Hapner, Blake Glaser, Shane Hapner, Nyketa Deem, Alexander Deem, Jasmine Deem, Emily Glaser and Steven Glaser; great-grandson, Liam May; nieces: Brigetta Hillius and Ashley Deem; brother-in-law, Daniel Hapner; daughters-in-law: Shirley Hapner, Vonda Glaser and Mary Blaha; aunt, Marian Wise; and a host of other friends and relatives, including cousins: Thomas Dayspring, Brad Dayspring, George Dayspring, Chris McDonald, and Karen Tovey.
Fran was a Procurement Clerk with DESC, Defense Electronics Supply Center for more than 28 years. She was also employed as a Medical Billing Specialist with Dr. Ieva Veveris. Fran had a lifelong love of literature, owned thousands of books and wrote short stories and poetry. Fran was the matriarch of her family and took considerable care of her family and everyone she came in contact with.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:00 am.
