Frana Howell

Frana Louise Howell, age 88, of Kettering, OH, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010. She was born September 8, 1921 to the late Wesley and Florence Sprunger in Berne, Indiana of Swiss Heritage. Frana attended Mennonite Church and enjoyed choir. One surviving sibling Kent V. Sprunger and wife Lillian of Berne, Indiana, sister-in-law Helen Sprunger, cousins, nephews and nieces. Deceased brothers, Avery, Richard, and Thomas, and sister, Patricia Magee. Frana was married to Ben N. Howell for 24 years until his death in 1972. Beloved children and grandchildren, Patricia Howell and Larry Jensen of Oakland, CA, Douglas Howell and granddaughter Katharine of Kettering, OH, Beth Howell and grandson Cameron of Fremont, CA, step-grandchildren Steven and Jessica Nguyen. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church from 1948 to 2010, participated in choir for 3 years and a member of Grace United Methodist Women. Frana was a designer, dressmaker, tailor for 28 years, and a Girl Scout Leader for 14 years. Employed as secretary to principal at Fairmont High Schools for 15 and a half years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, arts and performances, travels/cruises and many friends. Graveside services will be held at Woodland Cemetery for immediate family. A public visitation will not be held. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the charity of your choice.
