Forrest Medford

MEDFORD, Forest L. age 92, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007. He is survived by Gertrude (Rismiller), his loving wife of 61 years; sons, Dale and wife Karen Medford, and Dr. Robert and wife Barbara Medford; grandchildren, Bethany and husband Charles Frick, Kristina, Jacob, and Laurie Medford; and great-grandchild, Katherine Frick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lottie Medford; and brothers, Robert, John, Clarke, Kenneth, and Dale Medford. He was a veteran of the Army's Fourth Calvary during WWII. He served in the European Theater, from D-Day operations through the Battle of the Bulge and ended the war outside of Berlin, Germany. He was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as trustee, treasurer, and other volunteer activities. He retired from General Motors where he worked for over 40 years. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday August 24, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Rd. Dayton, OH 45459, with Pastor John T. Mittermaier officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday August 23, 2007 from 4:30 - 8:00 PM and also from 10AM till time of service Friday. Interment at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, North Star, OH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Bethany Lutheran Village.
