Floyd "Cork" Sweney a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother to all, and friend to so very many. An avid musician who in his younger years could be heard playing in many of the VFWs on a Friday or Saturday night. A Vietnam Veteran who spoke of his shipmates like brothers. An avid umpire for the Little League Association for many years. A little league baseball coach the kids loved. A fisherman, with the patience to teach anyone that would listen. A year round camper who always had his guitar handy to sing random songs around the campfire. Floyd will be missed for his silly sense of humor and ability to always have a joke handy.
Floyd leaves his wife and best friend of 50 years, Jonda Sweney; daughter Chanda Hansen; son Kyle Sweney; daughter in law, Laura Sweney; and only grandchild Sabrina Sweney. Brothers: Bill (Connie), Mike, and Keith (Darlene). Sisters: Connie (Don) Ditmer and Sandy Tompkins. Many nieces and nephews that he held dear. Best friends: Dave and Diane Neaves, Brittany and Mick Rebholz, and Karen Sweney.
Family will receive guests from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Trotwood West Acres Church of the Nazarene (6199 Hoover Ave., Trotwood, OH 45417) where a memorial service with military honors will begin at 1:00 pm.
