Floyd Holmes, Sr.

Floyd Holmes Sr. of Dayton, Oh departed from this life on Friday, September 4, 2015 at his home.
Floyd was born to Flora and Reginald Holmes Sr., in New York, New York on December 30, 1955. He was educated in the New York Public School System, where he graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. After which, he attended Baruch College in Manhattan, NY. Later, Floyd joined the United States Air Force; there, he served his county for four years and was honorably discharged on May 21, 1982. In 1986, Floyd married Phyllis V. Boyd.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reginald Holmes, Sr.; wife, Phyllis Holmes; and son, Dishon Holmes. He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Flora Holmes; his children, Sherrese (Chris), Floyd Jr., Flora (Antony), Sakeitha, Joseph, Demetris, Annette (Tyrone), Devon, and Nathan; twenty grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; five sisters, Regina, Sylvia (Dell), Lisa, Faye, and Jenny; five brothers, Reginald Jr., Clennan "Mickey" (Tammy), Steve (Carolyn), David, and Charlie, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 3:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd.
