Lindsey, Floyd E., age 77, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. Floyd was born on March 6, 1938 in Washington Court House, Ohio, son of the late Glen and Wilma (Haines) Lindsey.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister Cheryl; his brother, Robert D. Lindsey; sister and brother-in-law Glenda and Bill McCrary; brother-in-law, Fred Vaughn and sister-in-law, Linda Lindsey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dianne (Willin) Lindsey; his two daughters, Lori Lindsey and Lisa (Tim) Maxwell; granddaughter, Lyndsey Maxwell; sisters, Patricia (Dick) Baughman, Cyndi Morris and Jane Vaughn; brother, Donald Lindsey and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, survived by longtime friends, Jim Maginnis, Ralph Welch, Tom Gerdes and Jack Sullivan.
Floyd went to Patterson Co-op High School. He served in the Military and was a Marine in the late 1950's at Camp Pendleton in California. He worked at Premier Rubber Co. in Dayton, Ohio and was Vice President of his Union. He worked at Rubbercraft in Dayton, Ohio and Gerdes Landscaping in Xenia, Ohio. Upon retirement, he became the owner and inventor of the Zook Fishing Lures.
His passions were Hunting, Fishing, Photography and the making and selling of his famous Zook Fishing Lures.
A special Thank you to all of his buddies at the Beavercreek Liars table and Fisherman's Headquarters in Dayton. The phone calls and frequent visits were very much appreciated. May his love of fishing and his fishing tales live on for-ever.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the funeral at 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432.
