Florence Mary Swanger

Florence Mary Swanger (Flo) 85, of Lewisburg, OH passed away peacefully on Friday December 1, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.

Florence was born October 24, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts to Dorothy and Frank Chase. She is survived by her sister, Helen (Hank) Leigh and her five daughters, Debbie (Sherman) Dorsey, Cathy (Tony) Harvey, Cheryl Gonzalez, Elaine (Keith) Sochacki and Libby (Michael) Stewart, 13 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and 4 bonus Granddaughters from down the street and last but not least her longtime partner of 28 years Herbert Green who devoted all his time and energy and never wavered in caring for Flo over the last few years.

Flo was someone who would help anyone or anything in need. She devoted much energy and time over the years to help feed the hungry - both humans and animals. Among her most recent contributions was delivering Meals on Wheels to the "elderly" when she was approaching 80 years old. A stray animal could always count on help at the doorstep of her home.

Flo loved finding a good bargain at garage sales, yard sales, and everything in between. She loved trying to fill up Herb's large van that he faithfully drove her and their dog Tiffany/Holly almost every weekend! At home over the years, she loved the simple pleasures in life: baking pies, listening to music and dancing, but her favorite thing of all was her family. She ached for the family that was gone and her heart bursts for the family here, especially for her kids and grandchildren.

Flo worked for General Motors for 12 years and retired in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Rosie Porsche, Dorothy Rabatsky and her beloved son Steve Chase.
