Florence Joan DeHart Williams, affectionately known as “JoAnn”, was called home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 1, 1939, in Connersville, Indiana, JoAnn lived a life that radiated faith, love, and devotion. She dedicated many years to serving her community as a dedicated employee of the Clark-Shawnee Local School District before retiring, where she touched the lives of countless students and families.
As a woman of great faith, JoAnn exemplified what it meant to be a wonderful wife and mother. Her commitment to her family was evident in everything she did; she adored her children, step-children, and grandchildren with a love that knew no bounds. JoAnn leaves behind her cherished children: David (Donna) DeHart, April (Cecil) Foley, Naomi (Barry) Smith, and Lolita (Brian) Miller. Her legacy continues through her beloved step-children, Patricia (Clayton) Brooks and Glenn DeHart, Jr., alongside her daughter-in-law, Jane DeHart.
JoAnn was a proud grandmother to a host of grandchildren, including Lindsey (Kyle) Suttles, Kadelyn (Jeremiah) Harding, Patrick Foley, Rebecca Stratton, Brett Beamish, Zach (Hope) Beamish, Rhiannon Heeg, Katie (Richard) Hazeltine, Ian Miller, Tanya (Ted) Williams, Edward DeHart, Jr., Marsha (Tony) Farley, Craig (Neva) DeHart, Cindy (Kevin) Knuth, Ben DeHart, and Andrea (Wade) Kiger. With an expansive family tree, she also cherished 31 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her heart.
JoAnn is survived by her siblings, Charles Hall and Cloteen Phillips, as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry forward her spirit of kindness and generosity.
She is welcomed into eternal rest by her parents, Edward Rosell and Eva Weaver; her beloved step-mother, Lucy Rosell; her first husband, Glenn DeHart, Sr.; her second husband, Kenneth Williams; her step-children, Louise Palmatir and Edward DeHart, Sr.; her step-daughter-in-law, Brenda DeHart; two sisters and two brothers, each of whom she missed dearly.
A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Clayton Brooks, to honor her remarkable life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 2808 Derr Road, Springfield, Ohio, 45503. The service, which will start at 12:00 PM, will be a time for family and friends to come together and celebrate the beautiful legacy of love and faith that JoAnn leaves behind.
JoAnn Williams will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know and love her.
