Florence C. Craig, age 87, passed away in Beavercreek, Ohio on March 5, 2015. She was born to the late Rollin and Louie Cooper on May 25, 1927 in Warren County, PA. Florence grew up in Treesdale Farms near Mars, PA. She graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and later from Wright State University. Florence spent many years moving around the world being a military spouse and settled in Beavercreek, Ohio in 1969. She taught schools for many years in Kettering City School district. Florence was a very active member at St. Andrew United Methodist Church and in PEO Chapter AK. She was preceded in death by her sisters Peg McFarland and Shirley Bruce; ex-husband Major Thomas Craig; longtime friend Bill Hoffman. Florence is survived by brother Russell (Amy) Cooper of Bluffton, SC; daughter Diana (Bill) Job of Kettering, OH; sons Jim (Alle) Craig of Denver, CO; Doug (Nancy) Craig of Redding, CA; grandchildren Derek Job, Tenaya Craig, Teresa Craig and many loving nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and faith were most important to her. Those who have known her well will miss her infectious smile, caring nature, and sense of humor. Special thanks to friend Joanne Miller and the staff at Trinity for their care in her final days. Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd Beavercreek, Ohio on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 1pm-3pm with a funeral service to follow on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church 350 N Fairfield Rd Beavercreek, Ohio at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
