Flora Mae Law

Flora Mae Law, age 79 of Centerville, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024. Flora Mae English Law was born in Uriah, Alabama on May 20, 1944 to the late Dan and Millie V. English. Flora was the baby of the bunch, also known as "Tiny".

Flora turned her life over to the Lord, at an early age in Mobile, Alabama. She married William Law and spent the majority of her life in Dayton, Ohio, where she first joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a charter member of Faith Vision Baptist Church, which became New Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Malik T. Shaw.

Flora was a Medical Assistant for over forty years before retiring. She loved gardening and won several awards from the city for her front-yard flower display.

Flora also enjoyed sewing and bowling. To know her is to love her! She was everyone's friend at church, work, and home.

She was favored by nieces and nephews, doted on by siblings, and trusted and loved by all. Flora was well known as a model tenant at St. Leonard. Her loving and giving spirit lit up the entire community.

Flora was preceded in death by her sisters; Lucille Harrell, Queenie Lowe, Brunette Williams, Ella Peavy and Annie Briggs,; brothers: Dan Jr., Arthur, Herbert, Frank, and Roosevelt English.

Flora leaves to cherish her memory: Two sisters; Molly Williams and Dorothy Ghee; Two daughters, Amelia Law and Lisa Razor; one God daughter, (Angela) Lynnette Colon, bonus daughter, Gloria Williams; Five grandchildren, Marritsa Collins, Jazmyn Hayes, Alora Gumm (Mark Gumm), David Razor (Jerica Razor), and Aleia McDole; and seven great-grand-children, Elias, Ethan, David III, Jayce, Emerson, Jakailyn, and Edison; bonus great grandchildren, Tionne, Koriyun, and many nieces, and nephews that loved her dearly.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home Centerville (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
