Fitz-William Byrd Taylor, III, (aka, "Bill") age 68 of Dayton, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. He was born September 24, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Fitz-William Taylor Jr. and Wanda Christine Taylor. Bill earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Martin and earned his Master's Degree from Indiana State University. He served his country in the United States Army where he earned the rank Specialist 4th Class as a Radar Repairman. He was mostly stationed in Ft. Campbell Kentucky. In June of 2022, he retired from BWI Group (formerly Delphi) where he worked as a Senior Controls Engineering Supervisor. Bill was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish and the Catholic Men's Fellowship. He was a long-time member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), an Associate member of Blue Star Mothers (who support active duty military and veterans) and while his son was involved in scouting, he served as a leader (on Troop Committee) with the Boy Scouts of America having completed adult leader training at Buckskin Trail and Wood Badge. Bill loved nature: Astronomy, hiking in the woods, and caving. More recently Bill became interested in HAM Radio and was involved with the American Radio Relay League, and completed his home radio station with the help of many friends. But more important to him than these activities, was his time spent praying the Rosary, daily, with his wife, Carolyn. Faith and Family were the most important things to him and he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
