Felix Harris, 65, of Trotwood, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2017. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, November 8, 1951 to the late Kate Harris. He married Mary Foster on November 21, 1986 in Dayton, Ohio and she survives.
Felix was the patriarch of the Harris and Foster family. He was a very peaceful man who was always loving and caring to all he met and cared for. He was a great musician blessed by the Lord, with the natural musical skills that was enjoyed by all who heard him sing and play. The love he had for others could be felt by all who heard him play, and he was one of the most standup men that any family would be proud of. He loved his family dearly, especially his wife Mary, and will be greatly missed.
Felix is survived by his wife; two sons Johnny Thompson and David L. (Carol) Jones, Jr.; five daughters Felina (Mike) Wilson, Elizabeth Jones-Murrell, LaTonya Thompson, Natasha (Babacar) Fall and Nakeisha Fuller; one brother Joe Harris; five sisters Minnie D. Lowe, Lynn Scott, Betty (Nate) Davis, Joann Poston and Ruby Parks; 28 grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a special niece Penny (Charles) Harris-Holt; three special nephews Ronnie (Carrie) Harris, Jamie Harris and Armand (Mimi) Parks; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, a special mother in law Mary E. Young; two brothers Jimmy Harris Jr. and Huey Harris; and four sisters Ophelia Dews, Rheatha Hubbard, Mamy Duffie and Cautrie L. Harris.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, Needmore Road, with the Bishop Mark Mays officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at West Memory Gardens, Dayton, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Felix.
