Faustine Nester Shaffer
August 10, 1925 — October 16, 2019
Faustine Nester Shaffer, age 94, of Fairborn, went home to be with her Lord, on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on August 10, 1925 in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia to Russell and Oma (Nitz) Nester. Faustine married Floyd C. Shaffer on June 9, 1973 in LaGrange, OH.
Faustine was the oldest of eleven children. She attended night school and obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse License and worked for Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin, OH. Faustine retired after 22 years of service to the hospital. Wherever Faustine lived she attended church and was a member of the Berean Baptist Temple in Fairborn. She leaves behind a strong testimony of loving the Lord and serving her local church. Faustine loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Faustine is survived by her three daughters, Jackie (Doug) Tallman, Carol (Bill) Hill, Connie (Wally) Cirafesi; her step children, Katie (Jim) Wilmoth, John (Donna) Shaffer and Becky Hogan; ten grandchildren, Deborah (Jim) Jones, Bill (Tonya) Hill, Tami (Don) Allen, Cara (Ben) Speros, Wesley (Sarajane) Hill, Carmela (Mark) Batluck, Carrie (Jamey) Seaman, Wally (Jessie) Cirafesi, Tim Webb and Stacie Fitzgerald; twenty great grandchildren; a sister, Inez (Ola) Tucker; a brother, Roy Nester; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd; and eight brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 11:00 am with the Reverend Lonnie Bocook officiating. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, OH at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donation in Faustine's name can be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
