Evonne Heck Corthell

Evonne Heck Corthell, age 76, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009. She was preceded in death by her father, Emmert R. Heck; mother, Bernice Eagleson; step-father, Joe Eagleson; brothers, Dale Heck and Larry Heck. Evonne is survived by her children, Charles E. (Donna) Leonard, Robert M. Leonard, Susan Maddin, Sheila (Fred) Fiebiger; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; Siblings, Beverly (Robert) Maham, Carolyn (Ron) Puterbaugh and Doug (Pat) Heck; special friends Juanita and Eileen. Evonne was one of the first women to go through the Dayton Police Academy, where she graduated in 1963. She retired after 10 years with GM. Evonne worked for the state of Florida at the DMV for 16 years. She loved to cook, go fishing and be with her family and friends. Services will be held Monday, May 4, 2009 at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Bearcreek/Hillgrove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718).
