Everett Spencer Jackson

Everett S. Jackson was born September 20, 1941 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Dorothy J. Jackson and Walter S. Jackson and departed this life to join his Savior on Friday, May 26, 2017.

Everett accepted Christ at an early age at Asbury Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. He graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School and attended Howard University for a few years.

Later he and his wife, Elaine, moved to Dayton, Ohio where he transferred his membership to McKinley United Methodist Church. Everett was an active member, participating in the McKinley Male Choir, Gospel Clefs, and the Voices of McKinley. He was the Chairman of the Trustee Board for several years and remained a member of the board for many more. He also designed and built the Communion Table at McKinley.

Everett retired from the United States Postal Service after 38 years of service, where he held various positions, to include Supervisor and Data Clerk. He enjoyed numerous hobbies, bowling, fishing, golfing, riding his motorcycle, working and building in his workshop, and furniture upholstery.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Delorse Biggerstaff. Besides his wife, Gladys Elaine, he leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Kimberly E. Gaither (Talmadge A.); brother, Rufus Jackson of Lexington, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Talmadge E. Gaither (T.J.) and Lauren E. Gaither; one sister-in-law, Marilyn E. Hammons of Elyria, Ohio; best friend, Kelly King; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.
