Buchanan, Evelyn Y., age 63, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
Evelyn is survived by her sister: Thelma Buchanan; nieces: Kimberly Miller & Monica Hampton; nephew: Paul Buchanan Jr.; great nephew: Ryan Paul Miller; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jasper & Norma Lee (Cathey) Buchanan; brothers: Paul & Walter Buchanan; nephew: Walter Buchanan Jr.; aunt: Marine Merrett; and great aunt: Audie Mae Cathey.
Evelyn was a graduate of Central State University and received her certificate of Biblical Studies.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until time of services. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland of Kettering, Hospice Unit.
