Evelyn Swift

February 13, 1928 — July 11, 2023

Evelyn Susan Swift, age 95 of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at The Wellington at Dayton. She was born February 13, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William and Catherine West. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Swift and four siblings, Carl, Robert, Katherine, and Donald.

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Harold West; four children, Katherine (Brian) Maloney, Patricia Swift, Margaret (Tom) Credelle; and Joseph (Kay) Swift; eight grandchildren, Trevor (Jaime) Maloney, Laura (Joe) Cathmore, Carl (Lilach) Maloney, Jeannie Sanders (Ben Stacy), Steven (Lheanne) Sanders, Sean Sanders, Michael Credelle, and Kevin Credelle; five great-grandchildren, Mia, Rowan, Silas, Prudence, and Amélie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Evelyn graduated from Stivers High School and worked in the office at an elementary school in New Jersey. She later retired from Rexam in North Carolina. Evelyn was an avid blood donor for Red Cross. She enjoyed her early morning walks, Cross-stitch, bowling, playing Scrabble and Rummikub. Evelyn also enjoyed spending time with her card club friends at Kettering Senior Center. The most important thing to her was family. Evelyn always made time for lunch with her siblings. She is loved and will be deeply missed.
