Evelyn Lois Stewart was born on September 14, 1924 to the late Ernest and Viola Wilson in Dayton, Ohio. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Pristine Senior Living Care Center of Englewood, Ohio.
She was raised in Harveysburg, Ohio and graduated from Massie High School. She worked as an Executive Secretary at the University of Illinois where she retired after 30 years of service.
Evelyn was baptized in Jesus' Name, received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at an early age and a member of Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church since the early 1990's. She had a special ministry in acknowledging birthdays, anniversaries and special events in the lives of her family, the Bethesda Temple Church family, and anyone that she knew with extravagant greeting cards. She loved the Word of God and this was demonstrated by her attendance and participation in the Women's Star Sunday School Class.
Preceded in death by her parents; Husband, James Stewart; Daughter, Marcia Wilson; Brothers, Robert, Donald, Ernest, and Kenneth Wilson; Sisters, Doris Matchem, Ernestine McCoy, and Elaine Wilson.
Left to cherish precious memories: Grandson, Martin Douglas Wilson (Wendy); Four Great Grandchildren, Michelle, Kyndall, Alex, and Cassie; Three Great-Great Grandchildren, Amir Ashbury, Carter Bryan, and Liam Crownover; Sister-in-law, Mable Wilson; Special Friend, Annie Marie Thomas and Stephanie Cornwell-Rogan (Suzie, Jessie, David); Nieces, Karen L. Wilson, Kendra (Lawrence) Brownlee, Melissa J. Gay; Nephews, Kenneth (Dawn) Wilson and Thomas W. (Stacy) Gay, Jr.; and other nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the Bethesda Temple Church Family.
