Age 71, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Kettering Memorial Hospital.
Evelyn was a beloved wife and mother, faithful member of Kingdom Harvest Church for the past 20 years. Evelyn was born to Walter and Genevie Sopczak of Lyndhurst, N.J. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Blanche Haack, Theresa Thompson, Liz Camara and brothers, John Sopczak and Stanley Sopczak.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of the past 32 years, Don Mitchell; one daughter, Anne Urban and two sons, Derrick & Sherri Kothman of Dayton, and Bob & Kathi Urban of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremy, Nicholas, Matthew, Timmy and Laurel Rose; brothers, Joey Sopczak of FL and Anthony Sopczak of Dayton; sisters, Helen Ciecznski of FL, Irene Molmar of NY, Mary Muhleisen of NJ and Carol Kasper of NJ.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Pastor Dennis Bowling will officiate. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer the donations be made in memory of Evelyn to Missions of Mercy (for the children of Haiti), 2360 Valley St., Dayton, Ohio 45404.
