Evelyn (Lynn) Louise Rodway Honious passed away May 11, 2016 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center as a result of complications from a recent fall. Originally from Dayton, OH and previously lived in Miamisburg, OH, Lynn was 86 years old and lived the past several years with her daughter, Susan, and son-in-law, John in Ewing, Virginia.
Evelyn was born October 29, 1929 to Eva and Thomas Rodway. She was a graduate of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Nursing Program in 1949. She met her husband Harold Honious while in nursing school and were married in 1951. They had four children, Susan, Andrew, Debra, and Thomas. After living in Miamisburg, OH, she moved to Ewing, VA where she was lovingly called "Mom" by most that knew her. Her loss will be felt by all who knew her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and her daughter Debra. She is survived by her son Andrew, his wife Phyllis, daughter Susan, her husband John and son Thomas. Evelyn had three grandsons, Matt, Nate, and Chris and three great grandchildren, Will, Ellie and Evelyn (Evie), her namesake.
An informal memorial gathering is planned 2-5 Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. This will be a chance to share photos and memories to celebrate her life as well as paying final respects.
