Evelyn Brown Hislope, 90, of Springboro, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Delmer, KY on March 14, 1925, daughter of the late Robert Emory Brown and the late Emma Tarter Brown.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly J. Hislope of Springboro, Ohio and Sharon Hislope Apple (Alfred) of Williamsburg, KY, grandchildren Julia Elizabeth Apple of Richmond, KY and Christopher James Apple of Nashville, TN and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Roy Hislope, sisters, Thelma Barnett, Ivah Brown Dean, and Myrtle Brown and brothers, Roy, Roma and Linville Brown.
Evelyn was a member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church for 60 years. She enjoyed serving in church and her church friends were second only to her family. Her family would like to thank her caregivers Roland Hislope, Barbara Smith, Heather Williams and Fred Creager, Jr. Their care allowed her to fulfill her desire to spend her life at home. Visitation will be Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. followed by a funeral at 6:00 p.m. at the Moraine Heights Baptist Church, 5661 Munger Road. Visitation in Kentucky will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky. Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. is in charge of services in Ohio and the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of services in Science Hill, Kentucky.
