Eva C. Brock

July 19, 1931 — April 26, 2025

Dayton

Eva C. Brock, known to family as Colene, changed her address from this life to eternal life in Heaven on April 26, 2025. She was born July 19, 1931 in Brookside, Kentucky and moved to Dayton, Ohio as a young girl. She married the love of her life August 4, 1958 and was married for 56 ½ years at his passing. They are now reunited! She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill (“Jr”); five miscarried children (meeting for the first time); parents, Allen & Hannah Christian; siblings, Ed; Ethel; Elmer; Eugene; Roy; Earl; and Ray. Surviving are daughters, Donna (Keith) Strong; Brenda (Steve) Messaros; granchildren, Douglas Strong; Andrea (Seth) Doss; Tiffany Messaros; sister, Sue Gebhart; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the staffs at Miller Farm Place and Laurelwood Assisted Living facilities, her final two residences; DayCity Hospice for end-of-life care; and Council on Aging. All provided great care, comfort and wonderful friendships. She was Resident Ambassador at each assisted living facility, welcoming new residents and providing much encouragement to all. She lived with a determined spirit, always looking for the best way to accomplish the task at hand. She was a master of putting together puzzles, many which are framed and given to friends and family.

Most of all, she loved the Lord. At 17, she sang as a teenager on a church radio program. She sang throughout her life, including 19 years with her family: The Gospel Foundation. She made many friends in the Miami Valley, always offering a smile to everyone she met. Her last home church was Temple of Praise in Miamisburg, Ohio, where she loved the folks very dearly.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will be Friday, May 9 from 11am to Noon, with Homegoing Service following, officiated by Keith Gebhart. Burial at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens, 7370 State Route 48, Springboro, Ohio. The family thanks those serving as pallbearers: Keith Strong; Steve Messaros; Douglas Strong; Seth Doss; Leroy Brock; Chris Gebhart; and Keith Barnett.
