Eunice Irene McCumber, 88, of Beavercreek passed on Monday, May 2, 2022 after a courageous battle with dementia. Born August 20, 1933 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Albert and Edna Spradlin.
Survived by her daughter, Connie Sue (Adrian) Copley, of Beavercreek, and a sister, Faye McClay, of Portsmouth. Grandchildren include Brandi (Bill) Hans, of Dayton; Eric (Amber) Champlin and Miles Copley, of Hamilton, Ohio; Caylee McLaughlin, of Xenia; and Michael Copley, of Morehead, Kentucky. Also, great grandchildren, Grace Day of Springfield, Ohio; Rylee and Hunter McLaughlin, of Xenia; Journey Copley and Everly Champlin, of Hamilton, Ohio. Many nieces and nephews.
Eunice was a longtime resident of Beavercreek and during the 1970's was proprietor of Neilson-Bone Floris in Xenia.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Carl Spradlin; sisters, Gladys Murphy, Martha Mershon, and Jean Davis; her first husband, Edward Adrian; and second husband, David McCumber.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio). A graveside service will immediately follow at Valleyview Memorial Gardens, with Pastor BJ Newman of Kirkmont Presbyterian Church officiating.
Eunice's family wishes to acknowledge, and is grateful for, the compassionate care rendered by the staff of the Shawnee Estates of Xenia Memory Care Unit as well as that of Hospice of Dayton.
