Eugene Rishforth

Eugene "Gene" Rishforth, 63, was called home to meet the Lord, Thursday, November 19, 2009. He was the husband and soul mate of Jean (Lilja) Rishforth.

Mr. Rishforth was a life-long resident of Miamisburg and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He displayed his patriotism as chairman of the committee that brought the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Moving Wall to the Miamisburg community in 2008. He expanded his life hobby into a full-time profession as the owner of Star City Classic Parts, a classic Chevrolet restoration parts store; was past President of Gem City Classics car club and past Vice President of Miamisburg Merchant's Association. He was active in many Miamisburg community activities.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Christopher of Dayton, Jennifer of West Carrollton and Michael of Miamisburg. He was the brother of James Rishforth of Richmond, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Zachary, Kara, Ashlynn and many nieces. A nephew, James D. Rishforth, preceded him in death.

Funeral will be from First Baptist Church, 323 N. 11th St, Miamisburg on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 10:00 am. Visiting hours, at the church, Monday, November 23, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Rather than flowers, contributions to Honor Flight are requested.
