Eugene (Gene) Hensley passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born December 10, 1938, in Harlan County Kentucky. Retired from General Motors, he lived his life just outside of Dayton in Corwin, Ohio. He loved his wife, family in Kentucky and nieces and nephews very much. Known as dad, Poppi and Uncle Gene, he loved to fish, tinker in his garage and shopping garage sales.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life for 62 years, Pamala Hall Hensley; his parents, Moss Hensley and Rinda Hopkins Hensley; four sisters, Irene (Charles) Meeks; Ann (Sam) VanDeursen; Della Haywood and Geraldine Adams; four brothers, Cecil (Betty) Hensley; Jay Hensley; Gilbert (Betty) Hensley; Wendell “Tubby” Hensley; and Arlis Hensley; sisters-in-law Birdie Hensley and Henrietta Hensley, and brother-in-law, Bob Parker.
Gene is survived by two sisters, Betty Jean Parker; Margaret Puleo and husband, Denny; brother Chuck Hensley; sister-in-law Mildred Craig Hensley, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Gene will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, 1639 E. Lytle Five Pts. Rd., Centerville, Ohio 45458 on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Pastor Bud Brown will be officiating the services held at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens’ Chapel beginning 2:00 PM with burial services following. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
