Etta Lakes

LAKES, Etta Lee (Gentry), 85, of Vandalia passed away Friday, August 25, 2006. She is preceded in death by her husband Finley C. Lakes and parents Floyd and Mattie Gentry. Etta leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Connie Powell; 2 granddaughters Tammy Powell and Kimberly Brewster; 2 great grandchildren Cody and Presley; special friend George Powell Jr.; and numerous other family and friends. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Etta was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday August 30, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM before services at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Dayton Memorial Park.
