Etta Jean Hocker, age 86 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020. She was born July 7, 1933 in Kentucky to the late Charles and Minnie Hillard.
Etta was a graduate of Kiser High School. She retired from General Motors after many years. She enjoyed being outdoors planting flowers and playing in the dirt. She always had the most beautiful yard where ever she lived. Etta had many bird feeders and enjoyed watching them outside on her porch.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. As her children were growing up, her house was always the main hang out for all of the neighborhood kids. She was fun to be around and certainly had the "Hillard" sense of humor.

Etta will be missed by her loving daughters, Brenda (Paul) Munck and Deborah Hocker; grandchildren, Christopher Hocker, Jonathan Munck and Amanda (Christopher) Friedman; siblings, Helen Lombard, Donald (Darlene) Hillard, Ronald (Mary) Hillard and Robert (Linda) Hillard; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Monday, June 29, 2020 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Etta's memory to the Diabetes Foundation.
