Esther Mae Hardin, age 96 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 10, 2024. She was born March 1, 1928 in Bullville, New York, daughter of the late William Howard and Dorothy Hardin.
Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved to cook, and would always make each individuals favorite meal. She always made it a point to make each member feel important and special in their own way. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family. Esther was a plethora of knowledge even without having the internet. She loved telling her childhood stories to everyone who would listen,(Sometimes twice). She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hardin; son-in-law, Darrell Uzzel and Larry Denson; sister, Shirley Ginter; brothers, Jim (Doris) Brewer and Grant (June) Howard; and sister-in-law, Jannie Hardin
She is survived by her children, Carlene Denson, Rick (Ruth) Hardin, Phyllis Uzzel, Ed Hardin, Ken Hardin, Dean (Gina) Hardin, and Tony (Sandy) Hardin; 18 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roy (Diane) Hardin, George (Roberta) Hardin, Roger Hardin as well as several other family members and friends.
