Erwin Erling

ERLING, Erwin H. 83, of Dayton passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

He is survived by his loving wife Klara and family, daughter Liz (Rick)Kempfer; his son Karl(Jeanne) Erling; and grandchildren Stefanie and Laura Kempfer, Ean, Keira, and Neala Erling,devoted friends George and John and numerous family members in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents Eduard and Dorothea Erling, brother Karl and sister Ilse Erling.

Erwin was born in Marienfeld, Romania. After immigrating in 1951, he became an active member of the German Club Edelweiss, where he served as past president and trustee. He found great comfort and camaraderie helping the club maintain the German heritage and culture. He lived for the love of his family and friends. Erwin was a man of character and will be missed by many.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday Nov. 8th from 2 pm-5 pm at the German Club Edelweiss, 531 E. Wenger Rd., Englewood, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
