Ervin David Schachel of Wyandotte, Michigan was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born November 9, 1938 to Arnold and Katherine Schachel in Port Washington, Wisconsin. He passed away in Kettering, Ohio while visiting his grandchildren.
He served our country in the reserves for the Army National Guard of Wisconsin and then was called to active duty in Washington State during the Berlin Crisis. He was honorably discharged January 22, 1965. He also served his community and church in Wyandotte, Michigan as a Lay Minister for Trinity Lutheran Church for 15 years. For the past 20+ years he ran a small medical repair business in Wyandotte, Michigan.
Ervin is preceded in death by his parents, Arno and Katherine, and his brother Gary Schachel. He is survived by his loving wife Sue Schachel of 41 years, his brother Ron Schachel and sister Marji Fusher, daughters; Tracy and Terri, sons; Kris, Doug and Jovon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Molnar Funeral Home in Wyandotte, Michigan on Friday, August, 18, 2023 and funeral services will be at Community Lutheran Church in Flat Rock, Michigan at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
