WARD, Ervin "Butch" D. Jr., age 39, of Dayton, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 and is resting comfortably after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 30, 1972 in Dayton.
He proudly served as a police officer for 5 years, was a published author of a children's book and most recently a dedicated manager with Home Depot. Butch was an avid Phoenix Suns fan and a supportive and loyal friend who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Ward; daughter, Courtney Ward; father, David E. Emmons; siblings, Steve Rector, Betty Wilkins, Randy Benfield, Karen Ward, Randy Ward and Sylvia Johnson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins who were all very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin D. Ward Sr.; mother, Linda Emmons; sister, Mary Jo Rector.
Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Butch Ward Scholarship Fund.
