Errol M. Braaksma

Errol Maximilian Braaksma, age 75, passed away on Monday December 20, 2021. He was born November 30, 1946 in Jakarta, Indonesia and migrated to the states at a young age, where he became a proud American citizen and served in the US Army. In 1999 he retired from General Motors after many years of employment. He had many interests, treasured the Bible, was a Christian, loved God and believed in Salvation through the blood Jesus Christ.

Errol was preceded in death by his parents: Anthonius and Mavis Braaksma; step father: Napoleon Bedier Prairie; brother: Arthur Braaksma; father-in-law: George Bruggeman: brothers-in-law: Paul Dube, David Paugh, and Chuck Ursich; and Bob Swaney. He is survived by his cherished queen and wife of 53 years, Edith; their loving daughters and sons-in-law: Cynthia (Josh) Beegle and Angelina (Jon) Schlomer; grandchildren: Joshua (Ashley) Beaty, Lanie Braaksma, Alicia (John) Bullock, Adam (Mireia) Beaty and Haley Schlomer;, great grandchildren: Avalyn and Mia Beaty, Cylis and Maximilian Braaksma, Isabella and Baby Bullock; mother-in-law: Jans Bruggeman; siblings: Anita (David) Adams, Patsy (Dave) Bowling, Maureen Bedier Prairie, Anthony Braaksma, Ivan (Lisa) Braaksma, Kenny (Erin) Braaksma; siblings-in-law: Ingrid Paugh, Linda (Mark) LaForce, George (Connie) Bruggeman, Arlis (Kathy) Bruggeman, Dwight (Charlene) Bruggeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Errol was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was known to be talkative and enjoyed conversation. His light hearted kind funny nature, bright smile and genuine personality made him very loved by all. He will be truly missed and never forgotten. Until we meet again as death cannot break these special bonds.

A visitation will be held from 10:30am to 11:30am on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Huber Heights Church of God, 6900 Brandt Pike, Dayton, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30am. A burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
