SCHULTZ, Ernest R., 85, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Crestview Manor. He was born April 22, 1924 in Dayton to John Lillie (Pierce) Schulze.
Ernest was preceded in death by three sons; Raymond A. Schultz, Larry A. Schultz, Gary
E. Schultz: three sisters Nietta Schultz, Edna Knisley, and Margaret (Tuti) Bush.
He is survived by three sons: Richard L. Schultz (Kathy) of Summerfield, Florida;
Kenneth W. Schultz (Kim) of Dayton; Mark D. Schultz (Bethany) of Kettering, one
daughter Brenda S. Colville (Charles) of Dayton, 11 grandchildren and many great-
grandchildren, mother of children Dorothy Clark and several nieces and nephews. Ernest
lived in Dayton, Ohio all his life. He was inducted into the Army on January 18, 1943 and served his country during WWII in the 541st Ordinance from January 1943 through December 1945. He was assigned to working on tanks, guns and supplies in England, Belgium, France and finally Germany. Afterwards he served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was employed for over forty years at Kuhn's Bros. Foundry (later known as NIBCO), and retired from there. He was an avid bowler and a fan of the Cincinnati Reds/
Bengals. He was a member of the VFW 2800 in Kettering. The family would like to thank the staff Crestview Manor for all their wonderful care and support. A graveside service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday September 12, 2009 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
