Ernest E. Pierce

PIERCE, Ernest E., age 82, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Florence Pierce and his son, Jimmie Pierce. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Thelma Pierce; son, Michael; daughter, Jane Tibbetts; grandchildren, Jason and Amanda Pierce, Christina Tibbetts; great grandchildren, Elijah Tibbetts and Halona Karns, and many other family and friends, including his best friends, "Scamper" and "Clyde". He taught elementary school in Beavercreek for 32 years and also donated his time generously to civic youth programs. He also worked part time for 35+ years at various golf courses, including Moraine Country Club and Walnut Grove. He served 4 years in the U. S. military. Ernest was an avid outdoorsman and expert marksman. He was devoted to his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Foodbank, Inc., 427 Washington St., Dayton, OH 45402.
